Katie Roy
Managing Attorney

Ms. Roy is managing attorney at Nonprofits Counsel. She brings more than 10 years of experience in law, finance, and education policy in the public and private sectors. She has served as a nonprofit executive director, chief financial officer, and general counsel.

At Nonprofits Counsel, she provides representation and counsel to a variety of organizations, including public charities, private foundations, and government entities on a range of matters.

Ms. Roy is an alumna of Vassar College and Connecticut College. She received her Juris Doctor and certificate in tax studies, magna cum laude, from the University of Connecticut School of Law. She is admitted to practice in Connecticut and Massachusetts.

Lauren Koster
Principal Attorney

Ms. Koster is principal attorney at Nonprofits Counsel. She brings four years of legal experience, including clerkships at the United District Court for the District of New Hampshire and the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court, and a Skadden Fellowship in juvenile rights, including education issues. Prior to her legal career, she was a public school teacher and policy advocate in Connecticut, and has worked with several nonprofit entities throughout her career.

Ms. Koster is a first-generation college graduate and an alumna of Yale College. She received her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Boston College Law School. She is admitted to practice in Connecticut and Massachusetts and is also a member of the bars of the United States District Courts for the Districts of New Hampshire and Massachusetts.
